The best way I've found to make money is actually by selling the weapons I pick up. The thing is, if you take care of the ones you like (and actually use) there's no reason to keep the common ones you find on bandits, plus they add so much unnecessary weight to your inventory. As a side note, I think the best way to win money in Witcher 3 is to find treasure chests and complete witcher contracts.
