How to 6sc in magic ring

by Beatriz

In this tutorial, I am crocheting 6 single crochet stitches into the Magic Ring. It is often written as "6 sc into a Magic Ring". Many patterns worked in the round start with 6 stitches, but not all. Crochet as many stitches as the pattern states to do. In this article I will share the amigurumi doll pacifier doll free crochet pattern. This is the starting round for most amigurumi. Magic ring with 6sc.In this video I will show you how to make a slip knot without using a hook.

To make the Magic Ring, refer to the photos. Step 1: Begin by wrapping the yarn around your fingers, like shown. Step 2: Put your crochet hook through the center of the loops, like shown. Step 3: Pull the yarn (that comes from the ball) through the center of the loops, like shown. Step 4: Hook the yarn (that comes from the ball), like shown, and pull the yarn through the loop on the crochet hook. Let's say your pattern says 6 SC for the round. You will work 6 SC into the 2nd chain from the hook, and then either end the round with a slip stitch or a single crochet into the first SC you made. There's nothing to pull tight here, and you will be left with a small hole in the center. I hope you found this short tutorial to be useful!

Make your first round of stitches into the ring. Insert the hook into the magic ring, and draw up a

Hold the loop of the ring and the beginning of the yarn with your thumb and your middle finger. It will look like you are holding 3 strings. This will make tension on the yarn, making it easier and tight, to single crochet. Continue holding in this position. A magic ring is a way to begin crocheting in the round by crocheting over an adjustable loop and then pulling the loop tight. The advantage of the magic ring method (below, right) is that, unlike the regular "chain 2, x single crochet in 2nd chain from hook" method (below, left), there is no hole left in the middle of your starting round.
